On this February’s eve, I wanted to wish everyone out there a Happy New Year!
It’s been a good month for me. My novelette ‘Anais Gets a Turn‘ was published by Clarkesworld on the first and my short story ‘The Building Across the Street‘ is included with the stories in issue #294 of Interzone, which has officially shipped out.
I can’t believe this is all still happening. Life throws a lot at you, but once in a while that’s actually good. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see my name next to the names of so many excellent short fiction writers and I don’t think it’s something I’ll ever get used to.
In addition to the novelette, I recently got another story acceptance from Clarkesworld, this one for a story titled ‘Rake the Leaves’ which I may have mentioned or alluded to in a previous post. I also recently recorded a podcast interview with Gareth Jelley of Interzone. You can listen to it below.
In novel news, my novel ‘The Ganymedan’ went on sub around November last year. As with the short story publications, I’m happy most of all for the opportunity and the experience.
What I’m currently reading: Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead
What I’m currently watching: Three-Body (this is the Chinese language adaptation of Cixin Liu’s Three Body Problem)
What I’m currently listening to: So many months later, Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers is still the most in rotation. What can I say? It’s still a good damn album and I don’t really check for new music as much as I used to.
